New Life

This time i felt like doing some kind of ballad-like poem, i think its called narrative, or something like that... I think this is the first time i have done a proper rhyming poem that isn't an across-stick poem about frogs (long story, at least it got put in a book  -_-)

New Life

Little firefly, his life has begun
From life in a pupa, to life full of fun
His eyes see a world, a spectacular sight
And light up the world in the glory of night

Emerging from pupa, his body feels strange
No longer wriggling, like his younger stage
Now rise from his back, a strange pair of things
Tools for flying, known as wings

He flutters about, finding his feet
A new found environment, oh what a treat!
So much to explore, so much to enjoy
His new found body, ready to deploy

High in the sky, he zips about
Fearless is he, no blink of doubt
He has a life ahead, with twists and turns
Getting stronger still with lessons he learns

Fly little firefly, don't look back
Look ahead little firefly, forget your old tracks
Keep on little firefly, you may never have found
The gazes in wonder, looking up from the ground
